Can abdominal exercises prevent you from getting flat and firm abs?

Getting firm and flat abs is not an easy thing to do. It takes discipline and hard work to achieve this, as you need to have a very low body fat percentage to really have flat abs. If you’ve been trying to get there with less than desired results, you may need to change your approach.

If you’re stuck in the mindset that you have to do hundreds of sit-ups, sit-ups, and other abdominal exercises every day to get firm abs, then it’s time for a wake-up call. Because your abs are a small muscle group, working them that hard doesn’t burn calories or speed up your metabolism enough to make a big difference in your body fat level.

While it’s good to focus on your abdominal muscles, you need to take a step back and look at the big picture. To get nice flat abs that have that ‘tight’ appearance, you need to learn how to lose belly fat and reduce body fat as much as possible. And to do this, you will need more than just abdominal exercises.

You may even want to stop doing abdominal exercises altogether until you start to see some results by doing things the right way. Start to focus more on your diet and the other exercises you do, like weightlifting and sprinting.

To make quick gains and see quick results, one of the best things you can do is reduce your sugar intake as much as possible. Sugar is known to increase insulin levels and promote fat storage, which obviously won’t help you burn body fat!

And instead of running on the treadmill every day to burn calories, ditch your cardio routine and start lifting weights, heavy and hard. When doing big movements like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses, you’ll be breathing heavily. Plus, lifting weights will give you exponentially more long-term effects that help you shed pounds even when you’re not working out!
