Five types of black granite for your kitchen countertop

Granite is a fantastic option for a kitchen countertop. It is durable and extremely durable. This, along with the fact that there are many different colors to choose from, makes this type of stone one of the best for a kitchen countertop or countertop.

In this article, I will discuss some of the main attributes and qualities of; star galaxy; Impala Black, Emerald Black, Zimbabwe Black, and Ubatuba Granite, as these are types of stone that I have observed consumers purchase.

I would also like to mention that this is not a comparison of how expensive these types of granite are, but rather an explanation and description of what they are and how, by getting to know a bit more about their colors and veining or not like the Whatever. Whatever the case, it can help you see where these colors might fit within your room design and décor.

star galaxy

Star Galaxy is mined in India and has a beautiful black surface with flecks of copper and gold within, which tends to vary from stone to stone. Star Galaxy also features small silver markings, which underline the stone and sparkle when hit by light.

black impala

Mined in South Africa, Impala Black is a mottled gray with very little color within. Interesting enough; some grades can even appear gray flecked with black, which is great contrast.

emerald black

Emerald Black is a fantastic stone choice. It is mined in Norway and is commonly black to very dark grey, often found with specks of each within. Add the icing on the cake; Emerald Black has pearlescent crystals inside. Varying in size, these crystals sparkle when light hits them – truly magical!

Zimbabwe Black

Zimbabwe Black is from Zimbabwe (pretty fun) and is one of my favourites. He is part of the ‘Nero Absolute’ family of granite (which is something I’ll talk about in a future article) and is rarely absolutely black. It tends to have small cloud-like markings on its interior, ranging from gray to white.

Ubatuba

Ubatuba is a really interesting stone/granite as it is not really black, but to many it may appear that way. Ubatuba is mined in Brazil and is commonly dark green to gold in color, but in low light it can have a mottled black effect. Ubatuba pairs great with Oak, so for a kitchen, this could be the answer!
