The Ferrari marathon comes to the United States

To celebrate Ferrari’s 60th anniversary, the renowned Italian sports car manufacturer has kicked off a marathon relay around the world in which thousands of Ferrari owners will carry a relay baton created especially for the anniversary. The marathon has recently reached the shores of the United States.

To carry the baton to the next stage of the marathon, sixty Ferrari owners gathered at The Collection, the authorized Ferrari dealership in Miami. From there, the 60 Ferraris headed to Homestead-Miami Speedway. The owners then drove their sports cars around the circuit in a ceremonial parade lap. The gathering of six Ferrari car owners descended on the racetrack to take part in the opening of the 14th annual Ferrari Challenge.

The relay started in Abu Dhabi and then accelerated through the Middle East and on to China, Japan, Australia and South Africa. After that, the relay came to the US. After the relay passed through Miami, it will continue in Brazil and then in Mexico. After the two countries, the relay will visit the United States and Canada again, passing through the cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal, New York and finally Washington DC

After the USA, the relay will conquer the main European countries before the baton arrives at the Ferrari factory located in Maranello, Italy, and this is scheduled for June 23. Throughout the marathon relay, more than 10,000 Ferrari owners would have participated. They will be the “bearers” of the relay baton, designed specifically for the 60th anniversary of the famous Prancing Horse.

The baton is the result of the work of the different creative agencies of the company. It is adorned with 60 insignia that were chosen to commemorate the Prancing Horse’s most extraordinary achievement in its 60 years of existence. The baton is surmounted by a brilliant platinum and diamond Prancing Horse created by Damiani. The 60 badges were the work of the advertising agencies Intesta e D’Adda, Lorenzini, Vigorelli and BBDO.

Other creative talents that have a slow style for the relay are: Allessando Migliorini from Area Creativa, Marco Morosini and Enzo Naso from Eponymous Studio and Wolfgang Seidl from Seidldesign.

The marathon will showcase different Ferrari vehicles of all ages. This will surely be appreciated by performance enthusiasts and the general public who want to take a look at the different Ferrari cars that are known for their high performance and high aesthetic value. The popularity of the Ferrari is evident in the cheers of the thousands of spectators present at the 14th Ferrari Challenge in Miami. This will also serve to further boost the popularity of the brand.

From the looks of things, Ferrari is always looking for ways to appease the public. Although only a small percentage of the world’s population will have the opportunity to drive a Ferrari, this event will give the public a greater appreciation of the vehicles made by Ferrari over the years. Apart from the marathon relay, Ferrari will also build a series of 60 unique Ferrari cars in commemoration of its 60th year in business. The cars will be based on the marquee’s grand tourer: the 612 Scaglietti. Two of these GT cars are on display at the ongoing 77th Geneva International Motor Show.

The colors of these cars will be taken from the same livery used on previous Ferrari models that have achieved legendary status in the automotive industry. These cars are so unique that they are already billed as collector’s items and are aimed at the automaker’s most dedicated customers.
