Buying a property in Mandria, Cyprus

One of the most popular areas to buy property in Cyprus at the moment has to be Mandria. The small town sits peacefully on the Mediterranean Sea, just 15 minutes from Paphos, 5 minutes from Paphos airport and 25 minutes from Limassol.

As you enter the village you are met with a shaded street lined with trees. You immediately realize how different this village is from others in Cyprus. The town square is still small, but it is sometimes full of cars bringing people who regularly frequent the town’s two popular taverns. Almost anyone who has stayed in the Paphos district for any length of time knows about the delicious food they serve and the live entertainment on the weekends.

The main reason Mandria is so attractive is that it still has a lot of beachfront land that is undeveloped. There are acres of land farmed by the Cypriot refugees who owned land in the now occupied north and are now leasing the land to the government to farm. This provides the town with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the year. As you walk the many quiet paths, paths, and beachfront paths, you’ll be surrounded by orange, lemon, fig, and prickly pear trees, as well as potatoes, cucumbers, onions, and even peanuts. Every year the town has its annual peanut festival with lots of food, drinks and peanuts.

Surrounding the town are numerous pleasant walking trails ranging from hilly side streets to beach front paths. In Cyprus, there are not always paved roads to use pushchairs or rollerblades, but in Mandria, although these things are a novelty, they are used by residents. Cyclists often ride through Mandria and stop at one of the local tavernas.

All services are quite close to Mandria, while there are plans for more conveniences such as a large supermarket nearby, a marina at Mandria Bay and the American Academy School less than 5 minutes away. Already in Mandria there are services such as a community center, postal services, a small shop, a kiosk, a primary school and a gas station.

The town is a good mix of old-time charm and modernism that makes it unique and a popular place to live. So if you are thinking of moving to Cyprus or moving to our wonderful island, be sure to stop by Mandria and consider it!
